A licensed electrician installs it
Treehouse schedules the work with a licensed electrician and manages the project through completion.
What shapes your installation
Two homes can install the same charger and end up with very different projects. These are the factors your quote will reflect, and the reason Treehouse asks for panel photos.
Your charger's amperage
Code requires the circuit to be rated at 125% of the charger's continuous draw. A 40A charger needs a 50A circuit. A 48A charger needs a 60A circuit.
Plug in or hardwired
A NEMA 14-50 outlet tops out at 40A of continuous charging. If you want the full 48A, the charger has to be hardwired.
Panel capacity
Your electrical panel needs room for a new 240V breaker and enough capacity to carry the load. Older or smaller panels sometimes need an upgrade first.
Distance from the panel
The farther your parking spot is from the panel, the more wire and labor the job takes. A garage on the opposite side of the house changes the scope.
