The most common off-grid DIY mistake is buying an inverter and batteries from different sources, connecting them, and discovering a BMS communication mismatch that prevents proper charging. KIT-GROWATT-01 was pre-engineered to avoid that problem. The Growatt SPF 3000TL-LVM-48P inverter, three MidNite Power MNPowerFlo5 batteries, busbar, battery cables, surge protector, and PV wire are specified and tested together before the kit is assembled. The system speaks the same language across components.

The 80A MPPT charge controller is built into the Growatt inverter — no separate charge controller to source, wire, or configure. The MNPowerFlo5 batteries use LiFePO4 chemistry with active cell balancing and a 10-year warranty. Eight TaleSun 445W bifacial panels at 3,560W of PV capacity is well-matched to the 3kW inverter output with appropriate DC oversizing. The pre-lugged 1/0 AWG battery cables and MNSPD600 surge protector are included — the BOS work is done.

Can this system be expanded later?
Yes — the Growatt SPF 3000TL supports parallel stacking up to 6 units for up to 18kW total output. Additional MNPowerFlo5 batteries can be added to the modular battery bank. Confirm busbar and wiring capacity with your installer before expanding.

Is this suitable for a cabin with well pump and refrigerator?
A 3kW inverter handles most cabin loads comfortably — lighting, refrigerator, small appliances, and a TV. A well pump with high surge current may require confirming the motor's startup draw against the 6kW surge capacity. For larger loads or a 240V well pump, consider the Growatt 12kW off-grid inverter instead.

How long will 15.36kWh of battery storage last?
A conservative cabin load of 1–2kW average draw would run 8–15 hours on a full charge. Solar recharge time depends on panel production and weather. For extended cloudy periods, the inverter's generator input provides backup charging.

Do the batteries require a separate BMS?
No — the MNPowerFlo5 batteries include an integrated BMS with active cell balancing. The system communicates directly with the Growatt inverter for coordinated charge/discharge management.
