⚠ Before You Buy
This is an off-grid inverter — it cannot export to or draw from the utility grid. It is not suitable for grid-tied homes without significant rewiring. Confirm your application before ordering.

The difference between a 7,000W continuous rating and a 15,000W surge rating is the difference between what an inverter can sustain and what it can handle at startup. Motor loads — well pumps, HVAC compressors, refrigerators, power tools — draw 3–6x their running wattage for the first fraction of a second when they start. An inverter that can't handle surge will trip on startup, even if the running load is well within its continuous rating. The Rosie's 15,000W surge capacity means it absorbs those startup spikes without complaint.

At 7,000W continuous with 48V split-phase 120/240V output, the Rosie powers a full off-grid homestead — not just lighting and small appliances, but well pumps, central HVAC, workshops, and all 240V loads. The built-in 60A battery charger accepts generator input, which is the practical solution for extending runtime during extended cloudy periods or high-demand days.

MidNite Solar builds these in Arlington, WA — US engineering, US support, and a product refined over 20+ years of real off-grid deployments. Use our Build Your System guide to match the battery bank and solar array before ordering.

What's the difference between the Rosie and the Little Rosie?
The Rosie is a 7,000W continuous / 15,000W surge permanent installation unit for homesteads and cabins. The Little Rosie is a 3,600W compact unit designed for mobile applications (RVs, boats, small cabins). For a fixed off-grid home, the Rosie is the correct product.

Does the Rosie include a solar charge controller?
No — the Rosie is an inverter/charger. A separate MPPT charge controller (such as the MidNite Classic 150 or Classic 250) is required for solar input. The built-in 60A charger is for AC input (shore power or generator) only.

How much battery capacity do I need?
As a rough guideline, a 7kW inverter running at moderate load (3–4kW average) for 8–10 hours needs 30–40kWh of usable battery capacity for one day of autonomy. Most homestead systems target 1–2 days. Use our Build Your System guide to calculate your specific requirements.

Is professional installation required?
The pre-wired design simplifies installation, but off-grid systems at this power level involve high-current DC wiring. A licensed electrician or solar installer is strongly recommended.
